St. Patty's in Dublin

Top o' the mornin' to you! I'm currently in my hostel in Athens, waiting for Jimmy to get up, so I thought I'd update my blog again, since I still have soooo much to catch up on. Way back on March 17th, I took a trip to the Emerald Isle to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Dublin.

Following the crowds to the parade on O'Connell Street.
Turns out my idea was not so unique. There were A LOT of people there.
When space ran out on the street, the only thing to do was climb the O'Connell monument...
And iron gates...
And a brewery...
And pretty much any elevated surface possible.
Actually the parade wasn't even as fun as watching the great efforts everyone went through to try and see it.
Sadly, everyone else found all the good spots before I got there, so I was left with this great view of the back of some girl's head.
The parade had an international theme.
I'm not sure which nation this float represents, but I don't think I want to go there.
I'll skip the country represented by a giant spider too.

St. Patrick's Cathedral.
St. Patrick's Park.
Day trip to Malahide! Old stone wall.
Ahhh too many choices! Where to go where to go.
Malahide Castle! No pictures were allowed inside, so this is all I can show you of the place.
Outdoor gym!

The Spire of Dublin. Apparently Dubliners are not too happy with this 4,000 euro monument and have given it such fond nicknames as "stiletto in the ghetto."
Had to prove that I too could climb the monument.
Millenium Bridge.
Trinity College.
Campus grounds.
One of the fancy pants doors of Merrion Square.
Grafton Street.
