Firenze!

Ahh Florence! Italians like to give their city nicknames. Florence is called "La Bella," or "The Beautiful." (Side note: my city, Bologna, is called "La Grassa," or "The Fat." Tipico.) It really lives up to the nickname, and I'm glad it's only a 40 minute train ride away from me.

The markets! Where everything always just happens to be half price! Crazy! One vendor yelled at me, "You speak English? I give you a discount because you speak English!" This in a city where half the population is American students.
The Duomo. The Duomo of any Italian city is its main church. The one in Florence is pretty cool.

On the underside of the dome, there is a depiction of heaven and hell. Hell didn't really fit into this photo though. Oh well.
Stairs leading up to the top of the dome. In the words of a wise poet, "It's the climb."
Almost there!
La Bella!

Ponte Vecchio. I took this from the Uffizi Gallery, the large art gallery in Florence. No photos are allowed inside, but I decided this technically didn't count because I was taking it of the outside. Makes sense.
After a few hours of browsing Medieval and Renaissance art, I discovered the beautiful cafeteria. Seriously. It was amazing.
The Duomo in the distance. Ahh che bella!
